Is your beauty bag ready for fall?

Fall officially begins on Wednesday and if you in Texas like us it sure doesn’t feel like it yet

But if it feels like it or not where you live, every time the seasons change, your beauty routine should too.

Every season calls for different skin care - higher SPFs in the summer and higher moisturizers in the winter.

Since it is still in the 90s here, we have a little more time to get our beauty bag into fall shape, but if you up north here are some tips and tricks to guide you and your skin into a glowing fall:

  • As the weather gets colder, switch to a heavier moisturizing cream to combat the drying affects of colder air. Try to apply your moisturizer when your face is still a little wet, this locks in even more moisture.
  • Avoid hot baths and showers, even though it might be extremely tempting. Also, this is a trick I learned from my mommy back in the day – rub in your lotion as soon as you step out of the shower. It really does help keep you skin soft and silky in the winter.
  • Your nails are likely to become brittle as the weather changes. Avoid fast drying nail polishes as they contain isopropyl alcohol (IPA) which causes them to become even more brittle and flaky. Also, moisturize them with products that contain Shea butter or jojoba – Scandle’s Helping Hands Treatment Kit has spa gloves and a Healing Blend travel tin to lock in moisture.
