Getting Customers to “Check In” on Facebook

Get your Customers to “Check In” to generate repeat and new business!

Nearly half of all U.S. adults now own a smartphone and, among them, one in five “checks in.”  For spas, massage clinics, and other holistic health business owners, that means an opportunity to get them in the door when they’re already nearby. Here are three ways that you can get your customers to “check in” and generate more of a social media “buzz” for your business:

1.) Offer a special or incentive -  The goal here is to reward your loyal customers and get new ones.  One way is to reward customers that check in the most and the other is for first time customers.  Typically this is a discount off their service or product purchase.

2.)  Two is Better than One - If you want to attract business by the masses, then offer a deal on Foursquare, for instance, that is only good when a group of people checks in during a certain time frame.  If crowds aren’t your thing, then offer something for people that bring a friend or two.

3.)  The Best Things in Life Aren’t Free (not the first time anyways) - Sure you can offer a discount or freebie and I’m sure your customers won’t complain but you can also give them a voucher for use on their next visit to encourage repeat services or discount for retail products on a date in the future.

What other ideas have you used to entice your customers to “check in” at your wellness establishment?:)
