Exercise, hydrate and eat healthy, yet I still have the lovely cottage cheese reminder of what it is to be a girl. But what if there really was something that could cure it?
Scientist in Italy have done it!!!! New research released today finds a link between genetics and cellulite.
The research has identified a number of genes that differ between women who suffer from cellulite and those, abnormally rare who do not.
The researchers took 400 lean, healthy women. Two hundred had cellulite and 200 did not. The study found that healthy women who have cellulite have variants in the genes ACE and H1F1A.
So the scientist found the genes associated with cellulite in healthy women.
The ACE variant is higher in the women who have cellulite. The higher enzyme levels can lead to an altered blood flow in the fat tissue just under the skin’s surface. It can also lead to an abnormal proliferation of cells, and an altered architecture of the tissue.
While all of these results can be a little confusing, the important thing to remember is that the scientist state that the altered blood flow and proliferation of cells leads to the appearance associated with cellulite.
What does this mean for the beauty industry? Well if cosmetic manufactures research ways to alter the effects of higher ACE variants, there will be a cure for cellulite!!!!!!! YAY
It is important to remeber that this study was conducted on healthy, active women. Diet and excercise is still the main way to combat our predisposed cottage cheese friend:)
Let me know your thoughts? Cure for cellulite or just hopeless results?
